Mac OS X86!!! Run Mac natively on windows

Hello everyone before I begin explaining how to do this I must first put a disclaimer,

DISCLAIMER: I AM DO NOT ENDORSE THE BREAKING OF INTERNATIONAL COPYRIGHT LAWS AND I WRITE THIS SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATION I DO NOT WRITE THIS TO BE FOLLOWED IN ANY WAY I ALSO DO NOT IN ANYWAY TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY TO WHAT MAY HAPPEN TO YOUR COMPUTER IF YOU DECIDE TO TAKE ILLEGAL ACTIONS BY FOLLOWING THE STEPS I HAVE PROVIDED.

please support apple sales and DECREASE your karma

okay lets get started there are many ways to do this I am writing one way the would give you Mac os x86 10.4.5 and I am also timing myself typing this so if there are any errors you know why then okay lets get started first you would need to download the torrent ISO prepatched of Mac os x86

then you need to burn it to a DVD disc and wait till it gets burned

okay next you will need to download chain0 to be able to boot up ur windows and Mac this is the link http://www.markblu.net/chain0/ okay that's the chain0 file then from there you need to put that file in your the root of your c drive (C:\) then open notepad and open C:\boot.ini and at the bottom make a new line and past this exactly

C:\chain0="Mac OS x86"

save it, then check to see if you can boot up windows again like to see if you didn't screw it up open run and type in msconfig in that go to the tab that says boot.ini and click the button that says check all boot paths if everything is good proceed to next step

next use your favorite partitioning tool I like partition magic and make some free space that is > 6.5 gigs if you relaly like Mac you should make it like 15 gigs or higher more gigs the more free space you will have okay then with that free space make a new partition format NTFS of FAT32 it doesn't matter apply changes and reboot the computer

boot of the CD and wait when it ask you what volume would you like to install it you wont see anything what you need to do is go to the apple menu and select utilities and select disk utility and wait till that loads up (note that this installation takes a while my theory is 30 minutes after it checks the DVD) okay so anyways go to disk utility and select the partition you made earlier and erase it and name it Apple Mac OS X86 wait till its done erasing and then close disk utility and you will see that in the installer you partion shows up okay select it and on the next screen look at the bottom of the installer and select costumize uncheck the printer drivers unless you are going to use a printer and unsselect the language translations as well. Okay your done install it and wait and wallaa you've installed your mac yhea!!!

Please visit the rest of my site and click on ads, email me about question or recommendations and share this site with friends, thank you!!! -Dr. Choc

if you need this guide in spanish eh i dont feel like translating it but there is a great guide from wich i learned alot and its a video for both english and spanish yhea!!! here isi the link http://blog.adonias.cl/leer.php?id=78

Hello !

Very nice tutorial , thanx for spending your time trying to help others out.

A problem accured when I copied the chain0 file and changed my boot.ini :
I can only boot into MACOS if I have my installation DVD in the drive. otherwise the system says that I dont have a startup disk.

Tried windows recovery console but i was not able to reach C:/ root directory. apperently that is not possabile unless gives from inside windows :S (stupid Microsoft ??).

moved the hard drive into another machine and deleted the chain0 file and deleted the extra line in boot.ini and the same problem remain.

Any ideas ?? :) would appreciate the help, otherwise i'm forced to reformat my C drive.

P.S: when i opend the chain0 file in note pad it was filled with weird charechters , should it be like that ?? maight sound like a stupid question but i'm not fimilur with system files.

Jwalk

eddie i know your problem a friend of mine had it mac os x86 is booting to defualt into windows so solution is to when you click mac os x in the boot thing follow it by F8 (if that doesnt work at first play with it a little then if it still doesnt work try the alt key if that doesnt work then it is F8 just play with it)
for example
click to boot the mac and quickly press F8 after clicking it should work

okay jwalk i think you messed up your boot.ini file did you run MSCONFIG ? o well nothing to change now right but i think you can fix it in recovery console

* In your BIOS set CD-ROM as 1st Boot Device.
* Insert your Windows XP Setup CD, to boot from CD.
* After the initial loading of drivers is over, on
* the Welcome to Setup Screen with 3 options ; Press R key, to "Repair XP installation using Recovery Console".
On the next screen you will be asked to choose your Windows installation, choose the one that is causing the problem by typing
the number beside it.
* You will be prompted for Adminstrator account's password. Press Enter if the password was blank.
* Type the following commands, and press enter after each one :
o Attrib -H -R -S C:\Boot.ini
(where C: is the partition where XP was installed)
o DEL C:\Boot.ini
o BootCfg /Rebuild
o Fixboot
* Reboot your PC

jwalk i just thought of something you know when you install mac osx sometimes it triggers the mac partition active which may result in a unbootable drive secondly you could make the windows partition active by using a live linux disc like ubuntu

or

connect the hard drive to another computer as second hard drive and use partition magic?

how can i chnge my resolution on my machine it defaults to 1024-768 i need 1440-900 for my 17in labtop it runs perfect i just cant get the resolution i want or need if u know any way to fix email me at WMATOS13@HOTMAIL.COM
WMATOS13@HOTMAIL.COM

9:41 PM
Blogger Dr Choc said...

to fix the resolution you will first need to check how it would work and if it will work first type in

"Graphics Mode"="1440x900x32"

make sure the G and M in Graphics Mode are captilazed or else it wont work if that works for you then you can change a line in your boot options (com.apple.boot.plist) so you wont have to write it again i.e. where it says kernal flags but this in between the strings

"Graphics Mode"="1440×900×32"

you can't add a new line though so try editing one of the boot options that say

kernal flags
-v

and change -v with the above string

Hi :)

I want to thank you Dr Choc, your "step by step" is very clear and I succeeded in installing the stuff ^^

But, because it must be a "but", I have the same problem of Jwalk and I wonder if there is a possibility to active my windows partition without reformating it ;) (because I can't burn a linux live CD on OSX86 as I don't have a software to do that ^^) Because I have some important stuff on this partition Y_Y

Other problem, for the resolution, where must I type the commands you told to anonymous ? ^^

thank you for your help ;)

When clicking "Mac OS X86" in the OS select, it just takes me back to the OS select; can you offer any more in depth advice then, "press F8"? Because that does not work for me, F8 takes you to the OS advanced options... lol

dazed & confused you have to work with the F8 key a little like select mac os x then quickly click f8 if you do it wrong then it will prob go into the advanced boot options for windows you want it to go to advance boot options for mac when it is there you move the down using the keys and select the mac os x86 partition

Dear Dr Choc, I need your help I think :), I have followed your way and thanks for that, but after selecting formatted disk from installation it is writting something on hardisk (I think there was written "installing Part 1...." after finishing writting and doing next steps, it says "There were errors during istallation, Please restart and install again...", and then it gives me only one option which is RESTRAT... what could be the reason...thanks

Well I built my own machine and did everything right (theoretically). It boots just fine from GRUB (on primary, Ubuntu HD) to ntldr (on secondary, WIN/Mac HD). Everything goes fine up until after the apple screen with the swirly "loading" symbol.
It freezes up everytime when the window with "Loading Mac OS X..." comes up. The progress bar shows a sliver of aqua blue and then stops.

I assume this is a driver problem that cannot be fixed without me being a supergenius programmer (which I am not), and having a bunch of free time (i'm a high school student for god's sake).

If it isn't a driver problem, i'd love for someone to point me in the right direction or tell me "You're an idiot!!" and then proceed to tell me that I did some very important step very wrong. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!! -nezzy

This sucks, who ever released these so called osx86 images are morons. None of them work, if you are going to pirate or hack software do it right or don't do it at all people! All this does is waste other peoples time and stress them out. Every single image I try reboots, kernel panics or simply locks up during boot and there is NO SUPPORT anywhere to find out why or how to fix it. I have looked everyhwere for help, posted questions for help and no one replies because no one knows. If you don't know how to help others troubleshoot it then don't develop it ffs!
